My lessons are suitable for all styles and skill levels.

My Method

With my weekly structured lessons you can follow your own pathway to the style of singing you choose.

During our weekly lessons we focus on:

Songs
Each week we work on songs you have chosen that you long to sing like your favourite artists. We work at your own pace on the music you are passionate about. You are free to explore different musical influences and styles.

Exercises
The weekly exercises, which I call your “technical ladder” increase your range and your ability to choose different tonal sounds and styles as well as providing a strong foundation that will protect your voice and bring you a long life of singing where you will continue to improve naturally and consistently.

About Me

After more than 40 years of teaching... I know how to get the most out of your voice!

I have studied music from a young age learning classical piano for many years. I attended the Melbourne 'Conservatorium of Music' and my teacher was the renowned concert pianist Ronald Farren Price.

I was personally trained to be a Singing Teacher by the late Jack White who is famous for teaching such names as Olivia Newton-John, John Farnham, Peter Allen, The Bee Gees, Helen Reddy and many more. After completing my training I taught at the Jack White Singing School for a number of years.

As well as teaching I pursued a professional career for 12 years, performing in various bands and venues, including solo gigs, bands and a Big Band.

Nowadays my passion is guiding people to find their full vocal potential. I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your goals no matter how big or small they are.

After less than twelve months working with Jade I can actually sing in tune. Jade is patient and caring and the progress that I have made in such a short period of time under her instruction is a testament to her skill as a teacher. If you put in the work and follow Jade’s instruction you will get results! Thank you Jade you are a beautiful human being!

If you are seeking to learn to sing or you already sing and are looking to significantly improve your voice then look no further! Jade will take you under her wings, teach and nurture you to find your best voice! I was looking to start singing lesson, for my youngest daughter, last year.

We searched the internet for teachers. There were quite a number. I ask my daughter to choose from the ones we looked at. She chose Jade. She was 9 then and is now 10 years old now. What an inspired choice! Jade is just simply amazing! She identifies what has to be worked on and happily and enthusiastically guides you through the required practice. Your voice will certainly get better but it will improve significantly if you perform the practice as regularly prescribed. If you are worried about how much it costs for lesson then don't!

You get an experienced friendly, enthusiastic and very, very experienced teacher at a very, very reasonable price. My daughter's voice, in one year, has to be heard to be believed. Yes, I am her dad and you may say I am biased. I am in lots of areas but in singing her voice speaks for itself! Good luck in your vocal journey!

My teenage daughter was asked to sing at a wedding. She had had lessons with highly recognised names in the industry however had not sung for a couple of years, so we thought we would try and get some lessons to freshen her up. After looking on the Internet, also through the Christmas time, found Jade. What a find. My daughter was surprised how much Jade taught her in such a short time. She sang beautifully and it was a big thank you to Jade that made this happen so smoothly. I highly recommend her.

FAQs

Can beginners take singing lessons?

Absolutely! My lessons are perfect for beginners of All Ages, including children aged 11 and older. Lessons are tailored to your skill level and musical interest, whether in person or online.

How do online singing lessons work?

Online singing lessons are via video call on Facetime, Messenger, or WhatsApp. You'll have one-on-one sessions with me. We'll work on vocal exercises and songs of your choice. I will guide you along the technical ladder as we work together, just as we would in-person.

What do I need for online singing lessons?

You'll need a device (phone, tablet, or computer) with a working camera, microphone and an internet connection with the relevant app installed (Facetime, WhatsApp or Messenger). Have your device positioned so I can see you clearly and you will have good posture while singing. You will also will need a second device to play your song or backing track during the lesson. Have a notebook, pen and printed song lyrics ready to take notes.

How do I prepare for my first online singing lesson?

To get the most out of your first lesson, find a quiet space with minimal distractions. Make sure your device is fully charged or plugged in, and test your internet connection, camera, and microphone beforehand. Have a glass of water nearby. It is helpful if you have a song ready to sing and can let me know your singing goals.

What styles of music do you teach?

I teach various modern musical styles, including pop, rock, country, blues, alternative, church singing, and theater. Whether you perform professionally or for personal enjoyment, my method helps you excel in your preferred style.

How do I schedule a singing lesson?

To book a lesson time that suits you, simply text me on 0407 275 217. I'll work with you to find a convenient time for our one-on-one sessions.

Can I record our online singing lessons for practice?

I provide recordings during each lesson, including vocal exercises, and relevant singing examples. However, full lessons cannot be recorded to protect the privacy of both the teacher and student. This approach keeps your practice focused, as most in-lesson discussions are specific to the moment and less useful for review.

What happens if my internet connection drops during a lesson?

If we experience a connection issue, we can continue by phone. This rarely happens and it is no problem.

Do you offer group online singing lessons?

Currently, I focus on one-on-one lessons to provide personalized coaching tailored to your voice and goals.

How do I pay for my lessons?

Payments are made via bank transfer. A single 30-minute lesson is $55 in person or $45 online. For ongoing lessons, payment is due in advance to secure your weekly slot: $275 for 5 weeks or $550 for 10 weeks in person, and $225 for 5 weeks or $450 for 10 weeks online. Payments should always be one week in advance and paid by 3pm on lesson day or earlier. This gives me time to do my paperwork and confirm the lesson time-slot during our lesson. I will provide payment details when we discuss the first lesson.

Can I cancel or reschedule a lesson?

Yes, you can reschedule a lesson with at least 24 hours’ notice by texting 0407 275 217.

What happens if I miss my lesson?

If you miss your lesson due to unforeseen circumstances I will try to find another spot in the schedule but cannot guarantee availability. If we are unable to reschedule another lesson I can send you homework so that you do not fall behind with your progress.

Do you provide feedback or progress reports?

Absolutely! During each lesson, I provide real-time feedback on your vocal technique and progress. I also provide recordings during each lesson, including vocal exercises, and relevant singing examples.

Are your lessons suitable for children under 11?

My lessons are designed for students aged 11 and up, as this allows for more effective lessons tailored to developing voices. If you have a younger child interested in singing, please contact me to discuss a possible introductory session.

Where are the in-person lessons held?

In-person lessons are held at my studio in Mentone, in Melbourne's Bayside area — an easy trip from surrounding suburbs such as Parkdale, Cheltenham, Mordialloc, Beaumaris, Highett and Sandringham. If you are further away, online lessons are a great option.

Can I switch between online and in-person lessons?

Yes! I offer both in-person lessons at my Mentone studio and online lessons, and you are welcome to move between the two as it suits you.
